Letters Live at Freemasons' Hall

The winner of our Letters Live Six-Word Story Competition

25 March 2016 //  by First Story

A big thank you to all those who entered the Six-Word Story Competition that First Story ran at Letters Live – there was a delightful array of funny, moving and clever entries that we hugely enjoyed reading and judging.

There was ultimately one winner so congratulations to Rebecca, who won herself a bundle of First Story anthologies with her winning entry. Below is her story and a selection of our favourites entries for you to enjoy.

Winner

Brazenly, love grew amongst the briars.

Runners-Up

Mum fixes wings, I can fly.

Distant dream; perilous journey, closed border!

Disbelief. They’re here. Tentacles implant chip.

I stared, she winked, we married.

Burned the haystack, found the needle.

Scoffed delicious chocolate cake, was sick.

Quite the escape artist, my tarantula!

About to port the sea beckoned.

Sale! One dragon. One careful owner.

Drowning forward, pulling backwards, always free.
