Frances Osborne

Literary lunch with Frances Osborne

28 November 2013 //  by First Story

We are thrilled to announce our next literary lunch will feature best-selling author Frances Osborne in conversation with Susannah Herbert.

Frances will talk about her life and work, including her most recent book, Park Lane.

Tuesday 11 March, 12 – 2.30pm

The Polish Club
55 Exhibition Road
London SW7 2PN

Tickets £60

For table requests, please email info@firststory.org.uk. There will be an opportunity to purchase copies of Frances’ books and she will be signing after the event.

Frances Osborne was born in London in 1969. She has worked as a barrister, investment research analyst and journalist. Her first two books are the biographies Lilla’s Feast and the international best-seller The Bolter, which tells the scandalous life of her five-times married and divorced great grandmother, Idina Sackville. Her latest book, Park Lane, is her first novel. Set in 1914 London, it tells the story of two determined women forging their own lives in a rapidly changing world.

Park Lane is defter than a comedy of manners. Osborne echoes the refrains of Henry James and Edith Wharton, creating an air of geniality, even gentle comedy, to conceal intrigue and darkness.

Spectator

All proceeds from the event will support First Story’s creative-writing projects in UK secondary schools.
