We are very excited to announce that award-winning authors Patrick Ness and Sally Green will feature as guest speakers at the First Story Young Writers’ Festival, on Wednesday 16th and Thursday 17th September.
The Young Writers’ Festival gives First Story students from across the country the chance to take part in a range of activities, from intimate writing workshops to energy-fuelled poetry slams and inspirational talks from acclaimed writers in the inspiring surroundings of a University of Oxford college.
Our two guest speakers will be giving top tips to our students on writing, and talking about their life and writing career. Patrick Ness, winner of the Carnegie Medal and Guardian Children’s Fiction Prize, is the author of books for young adults including the Chaos Walking trilogy and A Monster Calls. Sally Green is the author of the Half Life trilogy and winner of the best book for teens in the Waterstone’s Children’s Books Prize 2015.
The festival is open to all schools:
We now have some vacancies so if you would like to bring a school group to the festival, please get in touch stating which day you would like to attend. Each school can bring up to 20 students and three members of staff.
